Father’s Day Message: The Father Who Forgot Himself

To the father who put himself on the back burner…I see you.
The father who skipped the workout to get to work early.
The father who ignored his aches and pains because someone else needed him.
The father who put his dreams, his health, and his goals on hold so his family could have a better life. The father who carries burdens that nobody else sees.
The father who quietly says, “I’ll take care of me later.”
But here’s what I want you to hear today:
You were never meant to be the source.
Somewhere along the way, many of us accepted a role we were never designed to carry.
We became providers.
Then providers became protectors. Protectors became fixers. And fixers slowly began believing they had to carry the weight of everyone and everything.
But God never asked fathers to be the source.
He asked us to be faithful stewards.
The man who stops trying to be the source finally experiences the power of the ultimate Source.
Your family doesn’t need a depleted version of you. They don’t need a father who is exhausted, inflamed, stressed, overweight, disconnected, and running on fumes while trying to save everyone else.
They need your presence more than your perfection.
They need your leadership more than your sacrifice.
They need your health more than your hustle.
The greatest gift you can give your family is not everything you have.
It’s the best version of who you are.
This Father’s Day, maybe the invitation isn’t to do more. Maybe it’s to surrender more. To stop carrying what was never yours to carry. To stop postponing your health. To stop delaying your purpose.
To stop saying, “One day.”
Because one day eventually becomes years. And years eventually become regret.
The mountain is calling.
Not to take something from you.
But to reveal something inside of you.
A stronger husband.
A healthier father.
A wiser leader.
A man operating from covenant instead of control.
So today, fathers, I challenge you:
Stop trying to be the source.
Return to The Source.
Your health matters.
Your purpose matters.
Your future matters.
Because the people you love deserve the healthiest, strongest, most present version of you.
God never called you to carry the weight of the world. He simply called you to walk in obedience. And where a man obeys, God provides.
Until next time…Happy Father’s Day!
